Description

You will lead the design and development of integrated solutions for NYSDOL’s critical applications, guiding agile teams through the full software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Guide agile development teams in the analysis, design, and implementation of JEE-based SOA systems.
• Define and validate service contracts using WSDLs and XSDs, and orchestrate end-to-end business processes.
• Mentor state staff on advanced programming techniques, architectural design, and QA standards.
• Develop and review technical documentation, including UML diagrams, sequence models, and service classifications.
• Perform database transaction management, troubleshooting, and complex SQL development for Oracle and DB2.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience designing JEE composite applications using SCA, EJBs, and Web Services (SOAP and REST).
• 7 years of experience using JSF development and JavaScript.
• 7 years of experience on agile teams developing complex integrated JEE-based SOA systems.
• 5 years of experience using MS Visio, UML diagrams, and Rational Application Developer (RAD/IID) for model-driven development.
• 5 years of experience with modern IDEs, preferably Eclipse and IBM’s Design/Development tool stack (RAD/IID, WebSphere Message Broker/IBM Integration Bus).
• Experience with WebSphere Integration Developer, WebSphere Process Server, and ESB integration.
• Proficiency in Hibernate for Object Relation Mapping and ANSI/PLSQL for Oracle/DB2 databases.
• Strong ability to provide direction, monitor productivity, and review work for quality assurance.
