Description

You will design and develop event-driven applications using Kafka, Java, and Spring Boot.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop applications using Kafka, Java, REST APIs, and Spring Boot.
• Mentor junior staff members on technical implementation.
• Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to define technical requirements.
• Participate in all Agile ceremonies and development workflows.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience programming and designing software with Java.
• Extensive experience with Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams API.
• Hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka and developing event streaming pipelines.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Security, and JEE technologies.
• Proven experience developing RESTful APIs and working with JSON web services.
• 8+ years of experience working on Agile development teams, preferably using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Experience with Jenkins, Git/BitBucket, Jira, Nexus, Maven, OpenShift, and UrbanCode Deploy.
• Experience architecting and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS or similar platforms.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Skills

• Experience implementing Section 508 standards for web applications.
• Background with federal or state government IT projects.
• Experience writing technical white papers and system design documents.
