Description

Design, deploy, and administer Confluent Cloud and Kafka platforms, providing 24x7 on-call support.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, and administer Confluent Cloud and Kafka platforms.
• Partner with architecture teams to ensure alignment with modern architecture practices.
• Develop automation for platform management, including restarts, patching, and deployments.
• Troubleshoot and fix production defects using DevSecOps and Infrastructure as Code patterns.
• Create documentation to enable team execution and support junior engineers.

Required Skills

• 5+ years in platform engineering with middleware technologies.
• 3+ years installing, configuring, and administering Confluent Cloud or Kafka.
• 3+ years experience with UNIX and LINUX operating systems, storage, and network protocols.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and messaging platforms.
• 3+ years applying DevSecOps and Infrastructure as Code patterns.
• Proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or similar infrastructure automation tools.
• Experience with GitHub or comparable code repositories.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with application profiling tools like Dynatrace, VisualVM, or JProfiler.
• Performance tuning for JVMs, web containers, and DB connection pools.
