Description

You will design and build event-driven applications using Java and Kafka.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop applications using Kafka, Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
• Design event streaming pipelines with Confluent Kafka and Kafka Streams.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define technical solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in Agile ceremonies.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of Java development experience.
• Hands-on expertise with Apache Kafka and Confluent Kafka.
• 8+ years of experience working on Agile teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Proficiency with Spring Boot and RESTful API development.
• Experience with Jenkins, Git/BitBucket, and Jira.
• Experience with AWS or cloud-native deployment.
• Strong design and architecture capabilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with OpenShift, UrbanCode, Maven, and Section 508 standards.
• Background in federal or state government IT projects.
• Ability to write technical white papers and design documents.
