Description

You will own the core engineering and administration of Linux systems in production environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer, troubleshoot, test, and harden Linux systems using RPM and Debian packaging standards.
  • Design, implement, and optimize Linux file-systems for production workloads.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Perl, Bash, and Python.
  • Create and manage CI/CD workflows and pipelines using GitLab.
  • Write and review pull/merge requests within Git.

Required Skills

  • Minimum eight years of experience in UNIX/Linux engineering or administration.
  • Proficiency with Linux command-line tools (apt, ubiquity, debian installer, ufw) and modern RPM tools (ip, dnf, nmcli).
  • Strong scripting ability in Python, Perl, and Bash.
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management tools like HashiCorp Vault and Packer.
  • Familiarity with YAML and JSON file structures.
  • Experience with virtualization tools, specifically vCenter and VMware ovftool.
  • Knowledge of security hardening standards, including CIS Workbench and Linux Test Project.
  • Experience creating and publishing Linux system images to repositories (e.g., Artifactory).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
