Description

Lead Linux systems engineering for the data center, focusing on golden image definition, system design, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Own the Linux golden image initiative, including definition, maintenance, and optimization.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot Linux systems within the data center environment.
• Mentor technical staff, review work plans, and provide guidance to ensure integration standards.
• Create technical drawings and update system logic documentation using Lucidchart or Visio.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of extensive UNIX/Linux engineering experience with deep kernel understanding.
• Expertise in Linux troubleshooting, hardening (CIS Workbench), and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in automation scripting using Python, Perl, and Bash.
• Hands-on experience with configuration management tools Puppet and Chef.
• Experience with DevOps tools Ansible and Terraform.
• Knowledge of package management (Artifactory, Satellite, RPM, dnf, apt) and file-system optimization.
• Proficiency in GitLab for CI/CD workflows and proficiency in YAML/JSON.
• Experience with vCenter, VMware ovftool, HashiCorp Vault, and Packer.

Preferred Skills

• Experience using TestRail to streamline testing processes.
