Description

You will design, develop, and maintain mission-critical mainframe applications in a high-volume enterprise environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL applications for batch and online processing.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and design documents.
• Optimize DB2 SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Resolve production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and ensure SLA adherence.
• Participate in code reviews, testing (unit, integration, UAT), and deployment activities.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with COBOL (Structured & Object-Oriented).
• Strong proficiency in CICS for online transaction processing.
• Expertise in DB2, including SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Advanced knowledge of JCL for job control and scheduling.
• Experience with VSAM and IMS databases.
• Familiarity with mainframe utilities such as SORT, IDCAMS, and IEBGENER.
• Knowledge of debugging tools like Expeditor or Abend-AID.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with mainframe security and access controls.
