Analyze and document business rules in legacy COBOL and CISC code to facilitate migration to modern platforms.

You will own the deconstruction of complex legacy systems, translating underlying logic into clear technical specifications for data conversion and supporting system integrators throughout the design process.

Responsibilities

• Deconstruct complex legacy COBOL and CISC code to uncover embedded business logic and rules.
• Translate findings from decades-old mainframe systems into comprehensive technical documentation.
• Support system integrators by providing precise logic specifications for data conversion.
• Contribute to the design process for migrating data from legacy environments to modern systems.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in mainframe environments.
• Expertise in COBOL programming and reading legacy code.
• Strong understanding of CISC architecture and principles.
• Proven ability to document complex technical logic for external integrators.
• Experience working within Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for code deconstruction.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Java, C++, or Python for system conversion processes.
