Description

Lead complex database upgrade projects, software installations, and system maintenance within a mainframe environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, install, configure, and manage core database products including IMS, DB2, and ADABAS.
• Develop and implement backup, recovery, and replication procedures to ensure data integrity.
• Perform database capacity planning, space monitoring, and reorganization tasks.
• Consult with development teams on logical and physical database design and performance tuning.
• Execute technical reviews and evaluations for selecting or fine-tuning DBMS software.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in Systems Programming or DBA roles, with 3 years in a lead capacity.
• Expertise in IBM Z/OS, IMS, DB2, and ADABAS.
• Proficiency with SMP/E, JCL, IMS DB/DC, and CICS.
• Experience with ACF2, ASSEMBLER, COBOL, and REXX.
• Hands-on use of IBM File Manager, Delta/IMS, and Natural/Supernatural.
• Knowledge of Entirex, CA Spool, and IMS & DB2 BMC Tools.
• Familiarity with N20/TRIM.
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related or engineering field.

Preferred Skills

• Systems programming experience with MQ, DB2, and ADABAS.
• Extensive experience in ADABAS/NATURAL or DB2 systems programming.
• Specialized expertise in BMC DB2 Admin tools.
