Description

You will manage hierarchical, relational, and file-based database environments for legacy systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute database environment upgrades and capacity planning on a scheduled basis.
• Maintain production database systems through monitoring, reorganization, replication, and partitioning.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
• Consult with application and operations teams on database design, including logical and physical design development.
• Perform technical reviews and evaluations of existing DBMS software to optimize performance.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe systems programming or database administration.
• Expertise with IBM z/OS, IMS, and DB2.
• Hands-on experience with ADABAS and IMS DB/DC.
• Proficiency in SMP/E, JCL, and CICS.
• Working knowledge of ACF2 and CA SPOOL.
• Experience using IBM File Manager and DELTA/IMS.
• Ability to work with ASSEMBLER, COBOL, or REXX.
• Familiarity with NATURAL/SUPERNAT, ENTIREX, and N20/TRIM.
• Experience with IMS & DB2 BMC Tools.
