Description

You will design, deploy, and support distributed microservice architectures in production. You own the reliability and performance of Kubernetes clusters, managing scaling, upgrades, and troubleshooting. You configure API gateways like Azure APIM or Kong for traffic management and observability. You implement SRE best practices, including error budgets and incident response, to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy microservices in distributed production environments.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters, focusing on scaling, upgrades, and operational reliability.
• Configure API gateways (Azure APIM, Kong, IBM APIC) for routing, rate limiting, and observability.
• Diagnose complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
• Establish and monitor SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets using observability tooling.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience with Microservices architecture.
• Deep hands-on expertise in Kubernetes deployment management and cluster operations.
• Proficiency with API Gateway platforms such as Azure API Management (APIM), Kong, or IBM API Connect.
• Experience with observability tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, or Instana for logs, metrics, and traces.
• Strong ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve production incidents.
• Practical application of SRE best practices, including automation and post-mortems.
