Description

Lead the modernization of legacy .NET 4.8 WCF services into cloud-native microservices and APIs. You will define target architectures, guide team development, and ensure scalable, secure implementation across Azure.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement target state architecture for migrating .NET 4.8 WCF services to .NET 10 microservices.
• Lead the conversion of VB.NET code to C# and refactor WCF services to CoreWCF, REST, and gRPC.
• Design cloud-native solutions on Azure, leveraging AKS, Service Bus, and API Management for horizontal scaling.
• Guide DevOps practices for ephemeral environments using Infrastructure as Code and Redis Cache.
• Review existing architecture and code, providing technical direction on AI-led development with GitHub Copilot.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years architecting modern applications and leading modernization efforts.
• Deep expertise in .NET ecosystem, specifically .NET 4.8, .NET 10, WCF, CoreWCF, and migration strategies.
• Strong proficiency in C# and VB.NET, with experience refactoring legacy codebases.
• Hands-on experience with AI-led development tools, particularly GitHub Copilot.
• Proven track record of cloud-native architecture, migrating monolithic apps to microservices and containers.
• Experience with Azure services including AKS, Service Bus, and API Management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-team collaboration.

Preferred Skills

• Cloud architect certification in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with containerized applications on Kubernetes, EKS, GKE, or ECS.
• Exposure to gRPC and AsyncAPIs for service communication.
