Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced OpenShift Midrange Engineer to support our Platform Engineering team. This is a contractor position expected to last 3–6 months and is being opened due to a vacancy created by an employee departure. The position is fully remote and can be based anywhere within the United States. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have strong experience administering and supporting Red Hat OpenShift 4.x environments in an enterprise setting. Candidates should be comfortable working within a containerized platform ecosystem and have hands-on experience with both deployment automation and storage management solutions. Key Technical Requirements: • Red Hat OpenShift 4.x administration and engineering • ArgoCD for GitOps-based deployments and application lifecycle management • Portworx storage administration and support Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with OpenShift upgrades, patching, and operator maintenance • Strong troubleshooting and operational support experience within Kubernetes/OpenShift environments • Experience onboarding and supporting enterprise applications • Ability to support occasional after-hours maintenance activities, including planned upgrades and patching events Typical Responsibilities This engineer will support daily platform operations, including: • Onboarding new applications to the OpenShift platform • Performing platform upgrades and patching activities • Managing and patching OpenShift operators • Supporting storage and deployment automation technologies • Participating in project and operational meetings • Providing platform support during scheduled maintenance windows when necessary Certifications While not required, candidates with Red Hat certifications will be strongly preferred, including: • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) • Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) Resume Must-Haves We would like to see: • Recent hands-on OpenShift 4.x experience • Direct experience with ArgoCD and Portworx • Enterprise Kubernetes/container platform support experience • Examples of OpenShift upgrades, migrations, or large-scale application onboarding efforts • Relevant Red Hat certifications and cloud/platform engineering experience
