Description

You own database administration, performance tuning, and maintenance for geospatial and enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client enterprise geospatial data models for Gas and Electric (versioned and non-versioned datasets).
• Provide ongoing database maintenance, including optimizing databases for specific applications.
• Design and deploy disaster recovery plans for SDE servers and Oracle databases using RMAN, export/import, Data Pump, Online, and cold backups.
• Manage configuration stores and support build deployments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database and application problems by monitoring and tuning performance issues across SQL Server and Oracle.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of experience in database administration.
• Expertise with Oracle, Oracle Spatial, and PL/SQL development.
• Experience managing Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS, MapInfo).
• Proficiency with Oracle Applications, Oracle Fusion Middleware, SAP, MySQL, DB2, and SQL Server.
• Experience with installation, configuration, and management of GIS applications on Windows and Unix servers.
• Skill in designing and managing SDE-Oracle database storage following vendor best practices.
• Ability to implement Oracle partitioning for I/O distribution and performance tuning.
• Experience scripting shell and batch scripts for monitoring and automation.
• Bachelor's degree required.
