You will design, build, and maintain high-quality Python services and APIs, ensuring reliability across distributed systems.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain modular, well-annotated Python code, contributing to Go services when needed.
• Design and implement APIs to integrate data across remote systems, handling full and partial failures gracefully.
• Build observable systems with effective logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting practices.
• Write and review GitHub pull requests, ensuring quality through unit tests, type annotations, and documentation.
• Collaborate with the squad to propagate data reliably using asynchronous patterns and distributed task processing.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience writing modern, maintainable, and modular Python code.
• Proficiency with FastAPI and Celery for API development and distributed task queues.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous patterns, including asyncio, event loops, threading, and multiprocessing.
• Ability to write and review unit tests using pytest, with a focus on mocking.
• Experience with Docker, Linux, and cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or OCI).
• Proficiency in reading and writing basic SQL queries.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals, including DNS, HTTP requests, and subnetting.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Go or Rust, or experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code.
• Knowledge of CDN/MultiCDN architectures, ABR streaming, or Kubernetes.
