Description

You will design and build event-driven microservices and APIs using Scala and Java.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build event-driven services and microservices that produce and consume messages via Apache Kafka.
• Design and develop RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Java and Scala.
• Implement backend systems using Spring Boot, Akka HTTP, or Play.
• Ensure reliable Kafka integration, including schema validation, error handling, and retries.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize service performance and API endpoints.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of programming experience with Scala (Akka, Play, or Cats/Scalaz) and Java (8+).
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including producer/consumer APIs, Avro/Protobuf, and topic design.
• Strong knowledge of functional programming, reactive patterns, and asynchronous programming.
• Practical experience with Spring Boot and dependency injection.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and API security using OAuth2 or JWT.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Strong unit and integration testing practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Kafka Streams, Akka Streams, Kafka Connect, or Schema Registry.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native application development.
