Description

Lead network architecture for next-generation In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) systems using Android, Linux, and cloud-hosted services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document end-to-end network architecture for IFEC systems.
• Ensure designs meet functional, operational, and scalability requirements.
• Review existing networking designs to identify and implement improvements.
• Provide engineering, implementation, and support for WAN, LAN, WLAN, Security, and Cloud technologies.
• Act as technical leader and mentor for software engineers and architects.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of networking-related programming in Linux systems.
• 5+ years of experience with wireless, mobile, and satellite communication systems.
• 3+ years of architecture experience in complex embedded systems.
• Expertise in Layer 2-7 networking design, testing, operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Deep knowledge of Linux networking and routing, including LAN, WAN, VLANs, IPv4/IPv6, TCP/UDP, NAT, DHCP, DNS, and multicast.
• Extensive experience with IP routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
• Experience with bare-metal Kubernetes networking, including CNI, Network Policies, CoreDNS, Gateway API, and Cilium.
• Knowledge of overlay networks, service meshes, eBPF, and load balancing.
• Experience with Cloud-provider network design (AWS, Azure) and Virtual Private Clouds.

Preferred Skills

• Experience interfacing with cellular and satellite-based networking systems and least cost routing models.
