Description

You will modernize monolithic Java/J2EE applications into cloud-native microservices on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Assess existing Java/J2EE applications (Struts, Spring, Hibernate, WebLogic) to identify cloud-native transformation opportunities on AWS.
• Design and implement solutions to migrate and modernize monolithic applications into microservices architectures.
• Develop and enhance containerization approaches for Java applications using Docker, deploying workloads on AWS ECS and/or EKS.
• Implement serverless solutions leveraging AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and other AWS-native services.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Atlassian Bamboo, Bitbucket, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitLab CI) for automated builds and deployments.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of overall software development experience, including 1-2 years migrating applications to AWS.
• Strong Java programming skills with J2EE frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and DynamoDB.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (AWS ECS/EKS).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Solid understanding of DevOps and CI/CD best practices.
• Experience with messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
