Description

You will modernize legacy Java/J2EE applications by re-architecting and migrating them to AWS to improve scalability, performance, and agility.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration execution by developing plans for replatforming or refactoring enterprise applications.
• Design and implement migration patterns, reusable components, and reference code for legacy transitions.
• Rewrite or optimize Java code to integrate with AWS services and break down monoliths into microservices.
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy to ECS or EKS, managing infrastructure with IaC tools.
• Collaborate with SCRUM teams to report progress and ensure timely delivery of migration milestones.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of hands-on experience migrating applications onto the AWS platform.
• Strong Java programming skills with experience in J2EE frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, and JSF.
• Expertise in containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Solid understanding of AWS architecture, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and API Gateway.
• Experience with CI/CD practices and database migration strategies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
