Description

You will own core engineering responsibilities for maintaining and improving a production system.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve customer-reported defects efficiently.
• Perform system maintenance, including Java version upgrades, framework updates, and refactoring outdated components.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure system availability in production environments.
• Implement and maintain automated tests and CI/CD pipelines to support safe code changes.
• Collaborate with support, operations, and product teams to define solutions for identified issues.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Java, including maintaining legacy codebases.
• Strong familiarity with AWS services: EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM.
• Experience debugging production issues within distributed systems.
• Proficiency in version control using Git and operating in agile workflows.
• Ability to analyze logs, metrics, and application behavior in live environments.
• Self-motivation to operate independently in a contractor capacity.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
