Description

Required:

  • Seven or more years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale software solutions in production environments.
  • At least five years of hands-on experience with the core technologies required for this position.
  • Strong experience with Angular.
  • Strong experience with Node.js.
  • Strong experience with MongoDB.
  • Experience working throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with software testing, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support.
  • Ability to design maintainable systems and translate complex technical requirements into practical implementations.

Preferred:

  • Previous airline or transportation industry experience.
  • Experience with application security, vulnerability remediation, observability, monitoring, and performance engineering.
  • Experience designing reusable components, libraries, and services.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, document, and maintain software applications, scripts, and technical processes according to organizational standards.
  • Build scalable and maintainable solutions using Angular, Node.js, MongoDB, and related technologies.
  • Lead the implementation of significant capabilities within existing systems and design self-contained services or components.
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend actions to resolve domain-level technical issues.
  • Decompose complex technical designs into manageable solutions that can be implemented and maintained by other engineers.
  • Improve the quality, reliability, resiliency, security, performance, and craftsmanship of products and systems.
  • Define test suites, monitoring, and instrumentation to ensure production targets for latency, availability, and reliability are consistently met.
  • Identify potential system vulnerabilities and attack surfaces, and guide the implementation of appropriate security controls.
  • Anticipate potential issues in systems under development and promote observability, monitoring, and supportability.
  • Lead the team in delivering small, valuable batches of work quickly and efficiently.
  • Promote reuse of components, libraries, patterns, and technical solutions across implementations.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced engineers on development practices, system design, testing, security, and performance.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce improved tools, processes, and technical approaches.
  • Support production troubleshooting, issue resolution, and continuous improvement activities
