Description

Manage and maintain highly available enterprise SQL Server environments. You will design, install, configure, and audit database systems while ensuring strict adherence to ITILv4 Change Management.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor backups and perform routine disaster recovery testing.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and schedule index maintenance and integrity checks.
  • Establish database policies, standards, and schema definitions.
  • Maintain team documentation for repeatable processes.
  • Participate in security audits and a 24x7 on-call support rotation.

Required Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition.
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL Server High Availability (Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, Database Mirroring, AlwaysOn Availability Groups).
  • 3+ years of experience with Windows Server (2016 and higher) and Microsoft Failover Clusters.
  • Installation and configuration experience with SQL Server 2019 (or higher) and Cumulative Updates.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 (or higher) certification.
  • Computing Environment (CE) Certification (e.g., MCSE, Server+).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with DoD STIGs, SRR scripts, and IAVM.
  • Experience with PowerShell (5.1 or higher) and script-based automation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure.
