Description

You will provide enterprise-wide support for business-critical production and non-production databases for the Arkansas Integrated Revenue System.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, and maintain SQL Servers, including service packs and Windows Failover Cluster Service.
• Execute routine maintenance such as index rebuilding, statistics updates, consistency checks, and error log monitoring.
• Manage SQL Server security, auditing, encryption (at rest and transit), backup, and user roles.
• Perform capacity planning for storage and database objects to ensure optimal disk space utilization.
• Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans, backup schedules, and point-in-time recovery procedures.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in SQL Server 2016 (or later) database administration.
• Expertise in SQL Server native tools: SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, Performance Monitor, and Dynamic Management Views.
• Proficiency in T-SQL coding, tuning, and ETL methodologies.
• Experience with High Availability methods including Mirroring and Always On.
• 5+ years of Windows Server Administration experience, including building and maintaining host and guest servers.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Failover Cluster configuration and maintenance.
• Proficiency using PowerShell for administration tasks.
• Ability to provide 24-hour support.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with FAST GenTax/DS-VS architecture and application maintenance.
• Knowledge of cloud computing, storage, and backup mechanisms.
• Familiarity with industry security standards such as PUB1075, FIPS, and PII.
