Description

You will manage and optimize large-scale SQL Server environments within a global financial services framework.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global teams to ensure database code meets standards for readability, reliability, and performance.
• Identify the top 10 most resource-intensive queries weekly and provide optimization strategies.
• Design and optimize indexes for existing applications and provide recommendations for reported performance issues.
• Advise on database design, including table structures, datatypes, stored procedures, and functions.
• Manage on-call troubleshooting for service outages and implement high availability strategies such as clustering, log shipping, mirroring, or replication.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of general database administration experience covering implementation, code deployments, backups, and user management.
• 7+ years as a SQL Server DBA with 5+ years focusing on clustering, encryption, standby configurations, ETL, and replication.
• Proven experience administering databases with sizes of 30TB or larger.
• Extensive experience providing Level 3 support within a banking environment (4+ years since 2016).
• Proficiency with MS SQL Server 2014 through 2019.
• Expertise in SSIS package creation, debugging, and data replication techniques.
• Strong SQL development skills, including stored procedure development and tuning.
• Proficiency with performance tools including Profiler traces, sp_BlitzIndex®, and DMV queries.
• Direct experience working within the financial services sector.
