Description

You will provide technical direction and supervision for a team of engineers and designers, ensuring the timely delivery of civil and structural services within budget and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve all civil and structural deliverables, including detailed design calculations, sketches, and construction specifications.
• Establish design criteria by incorporating client requirements and meeting state, local, and federal codes.
• Manage project controls by tracking performance budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
• Lead project teams by delegating work based on technical skill, planning workflows, and communicating progress to clients and leadership.
• Validate professional service and construction estimates, initiating change notices when deviations from project scope occur.
• Develop conceptual layouts, material take-offs, and cost studies to determine efficient engineering approaches.

Required Skills

• Professional Engineering (PE) License in the State of Alabama.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in civil and structural engineering.
• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Proven ability to perform advanced engineering work on complex assignments.
• Expertise in utilizing project controls for cost, schedule, and quality management.
• Experience in producing detailed design calculations and construction specifications.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision while managing multidisciplinary design coordination.
