Description

You will architect, deploy, and manage hybrid infrastructure spanning AWS GovCloud and on-premises data centers for a critical federal institution. You own the platform engineering lifecycle, from infrastructure as code to security compliance and operational reliability.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain hybrid infrastructure across AWS GovCloud and on-premises data centers, ensuring NIST 800-53 and FISMA compliance.
• Manage Kubernetes fleet operations across AWS EKS, Mirantis Kubernetes Engine (MKE), and VMware vSphere with Kubernetes (VKS).
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Administer and optimize VMware vSphere and ESXi clusters for enterprise workloads.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring and audit logging using Splunk for security analytics and observability.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in systems or platform engineering.
• Deep expertise with AWS EKS and Kubernetes fleet management.
• Strong experience with VMware vSphere administration and cluster management.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Jira for project management.
• Knowledge of federal security standards including NIST 800-53 and FISMA.
• Experience with Splunk for centralized logging and monitoring.
• Ability to migrate and optimize workloads in hybrid cloud environments.

Preferred Skills

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps, or DevOps Engineer).
• VMware or Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD).
• Experience in financial services or federal government environments.
