Description

You will plan, design, and maintain aviation fiber optic communication infrastructure. You own the end-to-end lifecycle from engineering design to physical installation and testing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise the construction of fiber optic networks, including backbone and horizontal cabling.
• Design telecommunication rooms and pathways in compliance with EIA/TIA industry standards.
• Execute cable installation, splicing, termination, and testing for single-mode and multi-mode fiber.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures using network analysis and rapid response repair techniques.
• Develop Statements of Work (SOW), manage installation quotes, and supervise internal and external installers.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of cable engineering experience or a BS degree in electronics/telecommunications.
• Hands-on expertise with Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6e data cabling.
• Proficiency in fiber optic installation, splicing, and termination.
• Experience using Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) and analytical testing tools.
• Knowledge of Coax and Cable TV installations.
• Technical understanding of WLAN, LAN, and WAN technologies.
• Experience with Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM).
• Ability to create network design drawings on electronic media.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Panduit solutions.
• RCCD Certification.
