Description

Own the development, documentation, and maintenance of a scalable design system and accessible component library for enterprise web applications.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain reusable component libraries using HTML, SASS, and Angular within the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) framework.
• Ensure all UI patterns meet WCAG 2.1/AAA accessibility standards through semantic HTML, ARIA roles, and rigorous testing workflows.
• Utilize Storybook for component development, documentation, and cross-team collaboration.
• Conduct code reviews, accessibility audits, and UX discussions to enforce quality and usability standards.
• Mentor developers on accessibility best practices and design system adherence.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional front-end development experience.
• Proficiency in HTML, SASS, and Angular.
• Strong expertise in WCAG 2.1/AAA standards, ARIA roles, and semantic HTML.
• Proven experience setting up and integrating enterprise design systems.
• Experience using Storybook for component development and documentation.
• Strong understanding of UX best practices and accessible interface design.
• Experience with USWDS or similar enterprise-level design systems.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with .NET, MVC, and SQL for backend integration support.
• Understanding of backend considerations in a .NET environment.
