Description

You will design, deploy, and maintain highly available VMware infrastructure across distributed data centers and remote locations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement fault-tolerant VMware infrastructure and solutions.
• Establish standards for deployment, tuning, maintenance, backups, and automation.
• Develop automated incident responses to minimize manual intervention.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on complex design problems.
• Manage ticket priorities and participate in a rotating weekend on-call schedule.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of related technical experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience with VMware services and tools.
• Direct experience with bare-metal deployments of VMware infrastructure.
• Experience administering VMware products across distributed data centers.
• 2+ years of programming experience in Java, C++, Perl, Python, or Ruby.
• Strong proficiency in advanced Shell scripting.
• Monitor system metrics like MTBF and MTTR to inform architectural decisions and capacity planning.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
