Description

You will lead backend Java development for workflow orchestration services, using AI-native tools to generate and own production-ready code across the full stack.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Generate, review, and deliver large volumes of production-ready code using Claude and AI coding tools.
• Lead the design and development of Java backend services supporting workflow orchestration platforms like Appian.
• Define backend architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices for workflow-centric solutions.
• Partner with workflow platform engineers to translate requirements into robust APIs and integrations.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of enterprise application development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Java experience.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
• Proficiency in building RESTful APIs and service security.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and schema design.
• Familiarity with caching strategies (Redis, Memcached).
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude, Copilot, or Cursor.

Preferred Skills

• Experience integrating Java services with workflow orchestration platforms (Appian, Camunda, JBPM).
• Background in Healthcare IT, payment integrity, or payer systems.
