Description

You will lead hardware development for complex server designs within the ThinkSystem organization. Your work directly supports the development of innovative datacenter solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop x86 server hardware architectures and organic designs.
• Create schematics and support PCB layout using EDA tools.
• Triage and resolve complex hardware issues during bring-up and validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers on architecture feedback.
• Validate hardware functionality against signal integrity and power requirements.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering.
• 7+ years of in-depth experience in x86 architecture and hardware design.
• Strong knowledge of DDR, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, SPI, and I2C interfaces.
• Experience with high-speed PCB design and signal integrity analysis.
• Proficiency in EDA schematic design tools.
• Experience in hardware bring-up, validation, and problem investigation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for executive updates.
• Ability to work effectively in team and self-directed environments.

Preferred Skills

• Master’s Degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience in FPGA code development, DC power circuit design, or PCIe simulation.
• Proficiency in Linux/Windows operating systems and shell scripting (BASH/Perl/Python/PowerShell).
