Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead low-level software development, testing, debugging, and optimization across software models, development boards, and production hardware.
  • Design and implement features and bug fixes in Trusted Firmware, Secure OS, Bootloaders, Hypervisors, AOSP, and Linux Kernel components.
  • Develop and maintain firmware, board support packages (BSP), and device drivers for embedded platforms.
  • Perform board bring-up, hardware-software integration, and performance tuning.
  • Analyze complex system-level issues and drive root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions and define scalable, secure embedded software designs.
  • Act as a technical lead and/or people manager, mentoring engineers and ensuring predictable, high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, validation, and system engineering teams.
  • Implement and enhance CI pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and validation methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with coding standards, security guidelines, and quality processes.
  • Drive continuous improvements in system stability, performance, and power optimization.

Experience Requirements:

  • 14-16 years of strong experience in embedded firmware and low-level software development.
  • Expert-level proficiency in C programming (C++ is an added advantage).
  • Extensive experience in bootloader development (e.g., U-Boot) and platform initialization/early bring-up.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Linux kernel and device driver development.
  • Deep understanding of ARM architecture, processor modes, exception handling, MMU, cache, and interrupt mechanisms.
  • Experience with Linux kernel internals including scheduling, memory management, IPC, and file systems.
  • Proven experience in board bring-up, hardware-software integration, and BSP customization.
  • Hands-on debugging expertise using JTAG, GDB, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and trace tools.
  • Experience in performance optimization, power management, and system profiling.
  • Exposure to secure boot, trusted execution environments (TEE), and firmware security concepts.
  • Experience working with hypervisors, virtualization technologies, or containerized embedded platforms.
  • Familiarity with Yocto, Buildroot, or other embedded Linux build systems.
  • Strong understanding of communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, USB, and Ethernet.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated regression testing for embedded systems.
  • Prior experience in technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and driving architecture decisions.
  • Exposure to automotive, IoT, or server-class embedded platforms is an added advantage.
