Description

You will lead the design and delivery of cloud-based software architectures and scalable backend systems.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Own complete feature lifecycles from initial design and architecture through implementation, testing, and production deployment.
• Design and build APIs to support web and mobile user experiences.
• Analyze existing applications and databases to identify and implement architectural improvements.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain a large codebase while contributing to technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to translate complex business requirements into extensible code.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of software engineering experience building backend software.
• 4+ years of proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and batch processing.
• Strong fundamentals in data modeling using relational databases like PostgreSQL and NoSQL like DynamoDB.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and serverless infrastructure such as AWS Lambda.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
• Experience with distributed messaging systems like Apache Kafka.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Python and testing frameworks such as pytest or unittest.
• Experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
