Description

Provide statistical expertise to the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, focusing on geographic overlap analysis between testing rates and lead exposure risk.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Update lead risk maps using housing, poverty, demographic, and blood lead level data.
• Create targeted outreach maps by identifying census tracts with high exposure risk and low testing rates.
• Evaluate childhood and adult blood lead databases to determine relationships and potential take-home exposures.
• Write, test, and implement programs to clean, manage, merge, and analyze large datasets.
• Train lead surveillance epidemiologists and develop SOPs to increase program capacity.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data management and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in programming and data analysis using SAS, Python, or R.
• Experience with complex data structures and linkages between disparate data sources.
• Advanced statistical modeling skills including hierarchical linear models, survival analysis, propensity score estimation, and random forests.
• Strong background in database design, relational database concepts, and data security measures.
• Ability to summarize, interpret, and present results via written reports, manuscripts, tables, and visual aids.
• Competency in identifying code or data issues and implementing technical solutions.
