Description

Lead structural analysis and automated calculation workflows for solar mounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute automated structural calculations using Excel integrated with RISA, SAP2000, and CFS to determine member sizes and reaction loads.
• Generate automated structural calculation reports and provide ULS and SLS reaction loads for pile calculations.
• Perform environmental loading calculations and ballast requirement assessments based on wind tunnel study data.
• Verify racking system strength, deflection, and uplift while reviewing structural drawings for accuracy.
• Supervise junior staff and provide technical guidance for engineering design and construction activities.

Required Skills

• 4 to 10+ years of experience in structural engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in automated structural calculations.
• Proficiency with SAP2000, CFS, and RISA software.
• Working knowledge of OBC, NBC, and ASCE building codes.
• Experience utilizing wind tunnel study data for structural design.
• Ability to calculate ULS and SLS reaction loads.
• Strong understanding of frequency and damping effects in design.
• Proven experience in creating full structural reports and reviewing calculations with stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Solar Racking design.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
