Description

You will perform specialty structural analysis and design for steel, aluminum, and miscellaneous metal structures in Lynden, WA.

Responsibilities

• Design bolted and welded steel connections using FEA software and hand calculations.
• Analyze and design specialty structures including stairs, guardrails, canopies, balconies, and aluminum components.
• Prepare design sketches, calculation packages, and detailed reviews of steel and aluminum shop drawings.
• Conduct field reviews of completed work and prepare Schedules S-B/S-C.

Required Skills

• B.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-4 years of industry experience.
• Registered as a P.Eng. with EGBC and/or APEGA.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as RISA 3D, SAP2000, or similar.
• Strong understanding of steel and metal fabrication processes.
• Ability to perform complex hand calculations and use FEA software.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• M.A.Sc. or M.Eng. in structural or earthquake engineering.
• 5-8 years of industry experience or experience in structural steel connection design, building design, or detailing.
• Registered PE or SE in Washington.
