Description

Perform structural design analyses for fuel pumping, vapor cooling, and actuation systems. Develop detailed, converged finite element analyses based on customer specifications and cross-functional engineering inputs.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements to provide mechanical solutions for thermal and engine system elements.
• Present detailed design analysis results to customers during design reviews.
• Recommend design modifications to mitigate stress while managing weight and manufacturability constraints.
• Interpret complex mechanical detail parts, assembly drawings, and hydraulic schematics.

Required Skills

• Extensive proficiency in ANSYS Workbench (v.2020R1 or newer), specifically structural, vibration, and dynamics modules.
• Experience with ANSYS classic interface and APDL language.
• Proficiency in 3D solid modelling using SpaceClaim, Design Modeler, or NX.
• Experience with MATLAB Simulink.
• Knowledge of casting, machining, and additive manufacturing principles.
• B.S. Degree in Engineering with 5 to 10 years of related engineering experience.

Preferred Skills

• Interest in turbine engine fuel/oil pump design and environmental control system packaging.
