Description

You will serve as the technical liaison between purchasing, product engineering, internal manufacturing, and external suppliers for body, exterior, and lighting components.

Responsibilities

• Assure supplier compliance with APQP processes and product PPAP submission and approval requirements.
• Review and approve supplier quality plans for new component parts and assemblies across vehicle and powertrain programs.
• Determine root cause of supplier manufacturing problems and implement timely, effective quality resolutions.
• Improve supplier quality performance by conducting onsite workshops and providing technical system development support.
• Provide technical assistance during supplier launch, change-over, and ongoing production activities.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of automotive interior, exterior, body, chassis, electrical, or powertrain quality and manufacturing functions.
• Knowledge of Quality Systems Planning (APQP) including PPAP.
• Ability to perform statistical problem solving (Red X, DFSS, DMAIC).
• Proficiency in print reading, part measurement, gage design, and Geometric Design and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Manufacturing Quality processes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams.
• Ability to travel up to 50% (daily and overnight combined).
