Description

You will perform field survey tasks to support daily crew operations and data collection.

Responsibilities

• Execute survey tasks including mapping locations, shapes, elevations, and dimensions of land features.
• Operate and maintain survey equipment, ensuring all functions and limitations are understood.
• Collaborate with office staff to ensure accurate data collection, field sketches, and note keeping.
• Perform field activities in compliance with company, state, and industry standards.
• Manage survey supplies, equipment maintenance, and shop organization as assigned.

Required Skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience with topographic surveys, boundary retracement, and construction staking.
• 5+ years of relevant survey experience.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather and varying terrain.
• Physical capability to lift 50+ pounds and perform tasks such as kneeling, bending, and climbing.
• Ability to cut and clear brush or trees to complete survey duties.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Basic computer skills.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight for projects located over two hours from the home office.

Preferred Skills

• FAA Part 107 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) pilot’s license.
• Formal land survey education.
