Description

Manage and maintain Sybase ASE and SQL Server environments across production and QA systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build and upgrade Sybase ASE database servers, applying the latest EBFs.
• Optimize server performance by configuring tuning parameters and trace flags.
• Execute disaster recovery plans and recover corrupted databases from backups.
• Lead outage calls on a 24x7 rotation and manage Sybase support cases.
• Coordinate with UNIX System Administrators to validate hardware specifications for CPU, disk arrays, and SSDs.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Sybase Administration.
• Strong expertise in Sybase Products and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Solaris OS and Linux OS.
• Proficiency in DBMS administration and schema migration.
• Solid understanding of ITIL frameworks (Incident, Asset, Problem, and Change Management).
• Experience managing SLAs and working with offshore teams.
• Ability to perform real-time monitoring and trend analysis of server performance.

Preferred Skills

• ITIL Certification.
• Sybase OCP certification.
