Description

You will manage, maintain, and optimize database environments across multiple platforms to ensure high availability and performance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, tune, and upgrade DBMS installations including Oracle, Postgres, and Sybase.
• Manage database replication, including setup, troubleshooting, and failover procedures.
• Execute database recovery in the event of system crashes or log failures.
• Monitor system health, including work processes, logs, locks, and disk space to maintain uptime.
• Automate database operations and maintenance tasks using scripts.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database administration.
• Expertise in Sybase administration and Oracle.
• Proficiency with SQL and schema design.
• Experience with Postgres, SAP Sybase, Sybase RepServer, and SAP Hana.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle ASM and Veritas Clustering.
• Strong skills in automation using Python, Shell, or Go.
• Knowledge of Redis, Cassandra, and cloud platforms including Azure and AWS RDS.
• Experience with Linux and KornShell (KSH).
• Proven ability in disaster recovery setup and maintenance.

Preferred Skills

• Competency in performance analysis and platform-specific tuning.
• Experience designing and implementing schemas and managing access controls.
• Ability to provide SQL query tuning and guidance to application developers.
