Description

Manage the design, implementation, and lifecycle of Sybase database environments. Own production support, high availability architecture, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Provide L1, L2, and L3 production support and monitoring for database environments.
• Architect and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Sybase clusters and failover/hot standby configurations.
• Configure and manage Enterprise Failover Manager or similar technologies to ensure system uptime.
• Lead system and SQL performance tuning efforts to optimize database efficiency.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on database design, schema changes, and application enhancements.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with Sybase ASE (Adaptive Server Enterprise).
• Proven expertise in production support and monitoring.
• Experience setting up Sybase clusters and HA/DR solutions.
• Proficiency in UNIX / Linux Shell Scripting.
• Working knowledge of Sybase open source.
• Experience with Oracle and MS SQL Server.
• Ability to implement monitoring and alerting systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
