Description

Manage Sybase database environments to ensure performance, availability, and security.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain database servers, processes, and host security hardening per enterprise standards.
• Manage SAN storage allocation, mounts, database restores, and point-in-time recovery.
• Monitor system health to analyze and resolve performance issues in real time.
• Automate routine processes, document changes, and refine database schemas.
• Assist developers with query tuning and support after-hours release deployments.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in a DBA role using SQL Server, Sybase, or DB2.
• 4+ years of specific administration experience with SQL Server, Sybase, or DB2.
• Proficiency with Sybase ASE and SQL Server administration.
• Experience with software installation, configuration, and host hardening.
• Knowledge of SAN storage management and disaster recovery procedures.
• Strong critical thinking and real-time problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
