Description

You will manage and maintain Sybase database environments, handling administration, tuning, and cloud migration.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Sybase ASE, IQ, and Replication Server environments.
• Perform database tuning, optimization, backup, and recovery procedures.
• Migrate on-premises Sybase databases to AWS cloud platforms (RDS, EC2, Postgres).
• Monitor database health and resolve production issues promptly.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure database performance and reliability.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience administering Sybase ASE, IQ, and Replication Server.
• Proficiency with AWS services, including RDS, EC2, S3, and CloudWatch.
• Experience with AWS-hosted databases such as Postgres and MySQL.
• Solid understanding of SQR reporting tools.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Shell or Python.
• Knowledge of clustering, fault detection, and resolution processes.
• Experience migrating databases to cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Oracle and MS SQL Server.
