Description

You will support a mixed database environment primarily consisting of Sybase ASE 15.7 and SQL Server, handling maintenance, data fixes, and after-hours implementations.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior DBAs with Sybase 15.7 maintenance and routine operational tasks.
• Execute weekly data fixes and support after-hours implementation windows.
• Manage and develop CRON jobs using command line interfaces in Unix, Solaris, or Linux environments.
• Support SQL Server operations across Windows Server and Azure environments.
• Participate in an on-call rotation from Saturday morning through Monday morning.

Required Skills

• 4-5 years of experience working with both Sybase and SQL Server.
• Hands-on experience with Sybase ASE 15.7.
• Proficiency with Unix, Solaris, or Linux operating systems.
• Experience managing databases within formal change control environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for database and system issues.
• Experience with command line tools and developing CRON jobs.
• Familiarity with Windows Server environments.
• Experience working with clusters and Disaster Recovery protocols.

Preferred Skills

• Direct experience migrating workloads from Sybase to SQL Server.
