Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain syslog-ng configurations for log collection and processing.
• Develop and manage log filtering, routing, normalization, and parsing rules.
• Monitor and optimize log pipeline performance, including CPU, memory, throughput, and latency.
• Troubleshoot issues related to log ingestion, message drops, duplication, and network connectivity.
• Configure and maintain secure log transmission using TLS and syslog standards.
• Support integration with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, ELK, and Securonix.
• Ensure log integrity, reliability, and availability across the logging infrastructure.
• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and load testing of log management systems.
• Create validation and testing frameworks for syslog configurations and filters.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and operations teams to support monitoring requirements.
• Document configurations, standards, procedures, and best practices.

Experience:

• 4-7 years of experience in System Administration, SIEM, or Log Management.
• Strong hands-on experience with syslog-ng administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, ELK, Securonix, or similar tools.
• Good understanding of log management, log parsing, and monitoring concepts.
• Experience with Linux/Unix system administration.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, TLS, networking, and security protocols.
• Experience in performance tuning and operational support of large-scale logging environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
