Description

You will manage the daily administration, performance, and resiliency of Linux and Unix server environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer Linux and Unix servers, including patching, system sizing, and hardware diagnostics.
• Monitor trouble ticket queues and perform system troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate with application administrators to troubleshoot, fine-tune, and implement best practices for underlying infrastructure.
• Execute system builds, upgrades, and integrations across RHEL, Suse, and AIX platforms.
• Maintain comprehensive system documentation.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with RHEL, Suse, and AIX.
• Proficiency with LVM device configuration and management.
• Experience with NIM, VIO, Jumpstart, and IBM HMC.
• Knowledge of Yum, Satellite, RMT, and Veritas.
• Ability to script in Shell or Python for automation.
• Proven experience performing UNIX builds.
• Working knowledge of VMware vCenter and system imaging.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, networking, and remote administration systems like iLO, iLO M, or iDRAC.
• Knowledge of HP, IBM, and Dell rack-mount server hardware.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with configuration management tools such as SaltStack.
