Description

You will design, install, and optimize servers and related components to ensure high performance for business applications across local, remote, and cloud-based solutions. Your focus is on maintaining application availability, configuring new implementations, and developing procedures for ongoing server environment management.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize server infrastructure to support city-wide business applications.
• Configure new implementations and ensure availability of critical services.
• Develop processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment.
• Oversee the physical security, integrity, and safety of the data center where applicable.
• Coordinate with local departments to provide critical IT services.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of VMware and data center operations.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure tools like AWS and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with version control systems like GitHub.
• Ability to build and test RESTful APIs.
• Strong debugging skills with minimal documentation.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
