Description

You will manage and automate Linux/UNIX operating systems and underlying infrastructure. You will own the release pipeline, security hardening, and orchestration layers.

Responsibilities

• Install, harden, and patch Linux/UNIX operating systems, including automating OS installations using Kickstart and PXE Boot for Ubuntu.
• Configure and manage container and VM orchestration via VMware, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• Write Ansible playbooks to automate infrastructure for production and development environments.
• Implement datacenter security best practices, including PAM, security patching, and remote access management.
• Manage software-defined infrastructure and troubleshoot complex system issues.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering.
• Proficiency in BASH and Python scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Linux and UNIX environments.
• Experience with VMware, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• Knowledge of LDAP and Active Directory.
• Experience with shared storage including SAN, distributed SAN, or vSAN.
• Working knowledge of network protocol layers and L2 switch configuration/tuning.
• Ability to manage software-defined infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with documentation and inventory management.
