Description

Own the architecture, automation, and reliability of large-scale, geographically distributed server systems for telecommunications services.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Automate repetitive engineering tasks and manage large-scale software upgrades across multiple servers.
• Deploy and configure Nginx, Apache, and core Linux subsystems including bind and iptables.
• Design and implement containerized solutions using Docker and orchestrate clusters with Kubernetes or ECS.
• Collaborate with development teams to define functional requirements and translate them into technical business needs.
• Write operational guides, MOPs, and maintain version control using Git/GitLab or GitHub.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of engineering experience in large, geographically distributed server architectures.
• Proficiency in scripting and development with PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, and Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Travis, TeamCity) and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Deep knowledge of Linux subsystems, networking, and server connectivity.
• Familiarity with SOA and Microservice software design patterns.
• Experience working within large telecommunication companies and service provider environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively between non-technical stakeholders and deep technical subject matter experts.
